Dunhams Mega Sports off Hall Road – Hidden Fishing Store in Michigan
I love promoting family businesses, but from time to time I like giving long forgotten franchise stores a little push too, like Dunhams Mega Sports. Ya know, this is basically the only athletic store that I've ever seen carry 90 and 100 lb dumbbbells. It's a rarity, big time! Why, I have no clue, maybe due to being a liability... But this is Dunhams in a nutshell, they carry a lot of fishing and sports equipment that a lot of other stores do not have. During the pandemic, my Red Head waders got a pretty bad leak in them and they were irreparable... I did everything I could to get a new pair, I went to Cabelas off Hall Road and even Cabelas in Dundee, then even went to Bass Pro Shops in Ohio, all these fishing stores were out of my size and inventory was low due to the Pandemic, just like kayaks... It seems when the shit hit the fan, every person imaginable decided to go out and purchase fishing rod combos, waders, and kayaks, a lot of fishing stores were out of these goods... So I thought, why not do an in-depth google map search and that's when I stumbled upon Dunhams "Mega Sports." And unlike the small Dunhams off Gratiot in Roseville, this Mega Sports version has a lot more to offer, it's a lot more organized, and a lot easier to navigate. It ended up having the Hodgman waders I've been looking for in my size! And I also noticed the internet price was cheaper than the store price, so I asked the manager if he'd match it, he did and I had a set of brand new waders at a lot cheaper price than Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops. Dunhams Mega Sports off Hall Road is definitely a hidden gem that a lot of sportsmen have forgotten about and is worth checking out!
Couple years back, I had done a video on Dunhams and the Hodgman Waders I bought, but I never got around to uploading it... Sadly!
Recently someone had to give their two cents on these Iron Hexagon Dumbbells, which is great, I love hearing feedback! Yes, I've come across posts on weight lifting forums of Hexes sometimes breaking and separating, however, I think if some people are lifting weights they can't lift, are slamming them down on the rubber floor because they can't control the weight, yeah these weights aren't for you. I'll say this, I have my hexagon dumbbells that go up to 50 pounds, I've had them for almost three decades and they're stilling going strong, in tip top shape... When I think of it, I originally bought them at Dunhams with the Greek Yooper long time ago!
