Lakeside Fishing Shop a Landmark to Lake St. Clair – Support Family Businesses!
I like the fact there's more and more anglers starting to sprout up on YouTube promoting family run fishing businesses like Lakeside Fishing Shop, remember that families' who own these mom and pop shops actually use their own money to throw back in the local economy to help stimulate it, rather than all our money going to a conglomerate, it's a huge plus for our local economy. And since a lot of family businesses have struggled through the pandemic, even though they're making money some are closing due to being so short handed, which makes it even more sad, anyway some of us can help promote these family businesses is a huge plus! Live 2 Fish has a great channel, definitely has a different feel than a lot of other channels on YouTube and that's what I think it's about, making your channel standout and promote these sports and local economies for the better. So many anglers are triggered by youtube videos in general and worried videos are going to bring pressure to fishing spots, they forget about how much business we bring to the local market, how much tickets we help sell at state parks, how many youngsters we influence to get out fishing. Not knocking the anglers that still just do charters and take photos, but it's a new world now due to technology and to me, anyway some of us YouTubers can help promote these family businesses to grow for the better I'm all for it. Lakeside Fishing Ship has always been a landmark, I would hate to see anything happen to it, just seeing the sign riding down Jefferson always gives me heartwarming feeling!
Truth is, anglers have always fought over spots and bullied others over the most petty things, I think social medial, videos and youtube have definitely put it on steroids, but we must remember we live in a Free Country. Hearing stories like these definitely keep me going and ignore the haters like Dwayne Johnson and the David Goggins said, yes these athletes still deal with bullying into adulthood at the navy seal and pro wrestling level believe it or not, this was a great story posted from Lakeside Fishing Shop... You're just not going to hear a story like this coming from Bass Pro or Cabelas giving back to the local fishing community like this, only from Mom & Pop fishing shops!
I think family run businesses still have qualities that set them apart from Cabelas and Bass Pro's 60 day return policy, they sell live bait, the fishing knowledge over corporate, and the support they provide for local bait makers... If you haven't noticed, same thing is going on over in Canada with Buck Fishes and Lake St. Clair Pro Tackle. And like I said to Buck in the comment section in one of his videos, he also should open up a Shopify store and promote his lures under the videos on the YouTube shelf!
Also, I think if some of these Mom & Pop fishing stores carried baits that corporate didn't carry, that may pull more anglers in and give them these family fishing shops the edge over monopolistic conglomerates!
God forbid Lakeside Fishing Shop ever turn into another restaurant... I remember when Steve's Back Room used to be a fishing shop way back in the day, we have plenty of restaurants in the area... We don't need anymore... BAIT SHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
I would say Live 2 Fish definitely has a good thing going, definitely reminds me of something similar to the Daily Woo! Some people just got a great voice, great vibe about them, just an overall people person... Love watching the Daily Woo after a hard days of work, Live 2 Fish definitely has something similar going on...
