New Squarebill Crankbait for Bass Fishing 2023
There's a new squarebill to try for 2023 and it's the Bill Lewis ATV Squarebill, offers a bunch of new unique colors schemes I've never seen before in a squarebill lineup and the profile is similar to a Lucky Craft, but at half the price, it's definitely worth checking out. I mean squarebills are not only good to get through tough places like grass, broken down trees, and rocks, but I absolutely love the hard hitting wide vibration wobble similar to a chatterbait, but still slightly different. I started notice musky were quite attracted to this vibration in completely stained water when I was out using the Strike King 2.5 near the Spillway, so that's what kind of enticed me into using the Strike King 8.0 on musky at the mouth of that river. They absolutely slam it, along with smallmouth bass... Since vision is poor for both musky and smallmouth bass in murky water, I think they their other sense becomes heightened, which is their lateral line to zone in on the unique vibration of this crankbait It's a hard bait that I may try out this year out on Lake St. Clair, because I love always trying something new each and every year, rather than doing the same old thing over and over again... So basically I love using squarebills near the rocks of the shoreline near Fords Cove, even near the breakwalls of Grosse Pointe Shores pier and the Little club, then I'll toss the a bigger squarbill like the Strike King 8.0 or the 6th Sense Cloud 9 Magnum at the mouth of the Spillway for musky. I sure hope, one day some of these lure companies start thinging about us musky guys, I sent Strike King an email saying you guys better not discontinue this lure... lol Because I'm scared since most bass fishermen don't have the heavier duty rod to throw the 8.0, this lure sits on the shelf most of the time. And honestly, don't be afraid to throw these bigger squarebills for bass. I tried it out near the the St. Clair River and got a doozy, absolute hog!
Met this other YouTuber named BassBruiser71 on youtube that uses nothing but these monster squarebills, such as the 6th Sense Cloud 9 Magnum and the Strike King 8.0 has a lot of success! Bill Lewis is known to supersize things, I have a few of their monster Rattle Traps for big pike and musky, so I hope they do it with the ATV!
